Louie Alto (aka Louis Batey) is a singer and producer from London, England. He is also a multi-instrumentalist, playing saxophone, flute, keyboards, synthesizer and drum programming. As a child, Louie was introduced to all kinds of interesting music through his parents’ record collection, which included Big Band, Swing, Jive, Blues, West African Hi-Life, Calypso and Latin music (Mambo, Samba and Bossa Nova). Growing up in London, he was also heavily influenced by Jazz-Funk, Soul, Ska and Reggae. Louie studied classical music and music theory at the London College of Music and as a teenager formed and led his own Jazz-Funk, Soul and Salsa bands. Recently he decided to explore, write and record music in the Deep House, Disco House and Latin House genre. Louie uses all these influences to write and produce his own unique style of music: “I want my music to make people dance and make them happy, as well as making music that people can listen to and relax.” Mr. Alto’s debut release on Defora Records is a unique collaboration with the label’s founder Manipolato. In fact, the original track “Musica Profonda” was previously released years ago by the artist himself. This EP features two brand new “reworks”, where Louie Alto’s catchy vocals in Italian and English are now mixed with the new arrangements produced by Manipolato. The “soulful” rework stays more faithful to the original version, heavily influenced by old-school Chicago Soulful House Music. The “Deep Club” rework is dancefloor-friendly, driven by a groovy bassline and hypnotic synth lines, for a real after-party experience.
